It’s 11 July 2026, one day after the finial deadline of my InDesign Product Creator Learning Project Part1, so you are expecting me to tell you about my results of tackling:
→ The four courses Skillshare courses
→ 365-day planner project
Before talking about the actual progress, let’ look at how many of the 16 planned days I actually sat in front of computer and spent learning InDesign.
My Daily Time Spent on The Learning Project
Day 1 → 0 minutes
Day 2 → 0 minutes
Day 3 → 0 minutes
Day 4 → 11 minutes
Day 5 → 1 hour and 45 minutes. (re-watched the videos from 1 to 27 using 2× speed)
Day 6 → 0 minutes
Day 7 → 0 minutes
Day 8 → 0 minutes
Day 9 → 0 minutes
Day 10 → 0 minutes
Day 11 → 2 hours and 24 minutes(re-watched 28-57 videos 2× speed)
Day 12 → 12 minutes
Day 13 → 25 minutes
Day 14 → 0 minutes
Day 15 → 44 minutes (Continued from video 58-86 2× speed)
Day 16 → 1h 34 minutes → Completed the first course and worked on the catalogue
As you can see I have 7 days out of 16 in which I spend some time studying the learning project.
In total, I spent 7 hours and 15 minutes on the project so far.
Going back to my original plan, I have estimated that the first three courses would each take about 2 hours. By that calculation, after 7 hours I should already have been tackling the fourth course.

But in reality, I only completed the first course (or let’s say 99% of it, continue to read to know why).

Figure 2: My actual progress
What actually happened?
My intention was simply to review the flash cards of the first course and quickly skim through the videos just to refresh my memory and recall the things I had forgotten.
But what actually happened is, when I used the QUIZ and mastered the answers, I became curious to go through all the videos at 2x speed.

What started as binge watching turned into sessions of recreating almost all every project shown in the course. (I only skipped one).
The first project was a magazine page about Sphynx Cats.
Here I’d like to apologize for my dear Range. You are still my favorite but I am secretly starting to think that Sphynx cats are more interesting. is this the beerus effect? most likely, yes.

Next I made this fruits weekly newsletter. I really enjoyed making this one but I know after finishing it I realized that the bottom feels a bit off, like the three elements aren’t well aligned but due to shortness of time, I couldn’t afford spending more time to refine that part of the design.

Also I worked on designing this brochure

Finally, I started a three-page book catalogue featuring books published in 2026, covering the categories of Self-Help, Business, and Philosophy.
Here are the first two pages:

Since I was already on the final day (10 July) while working on the book catalogue, I didn’t have enough time to complete the cover page and the third page, which focuses on philosophy books. I plan to finish them and share them in the next update.
What needs to be done to finish Part 1?
Since I missed the deadline after completing only about 20% of the roadmap, I’ve decided to give myself one additional week.
During that week, I need to double my effort by studying 3 hours per day. That should allow me to finish the remaining resources in just one week.
By 17 July 2026, this learning project should be complete.
The next update will be published on 18 July 2026.
Before I wrap things up, if you’d like to follow along with the learning project and you don’t have a Skillshare account, you can use my affiliate link below to get one free month.
I’ll also earn an extra month on my subscription, so it’s a win-win for both of us.
See you around!
