In my last update (check my blogpost or the podcast episode) I stated that my habits progress is in a huge decline. Here are the habits results for each month:
January → 77.52%
February → 76.5%
March → 71.43%
April → 62.5%
May → 58.2%
June → 62.4%
July → 51%

Let’s check what we have in the 8th month, August 2025.
The goal is to aim for an 88-90% success rate (the 88% target is only used as a voucher 3 times a year, and so far I haven’t used any), which means doing my habits at least 573 times out of 651.
Reboot for August 2025
So what exactly is a reboot? It’s dumbing down habits and making them so easy to not miss. For example, if I used to read for 30 minutes, this month it should be reading just for 10 minutes.
Usually, I have multiple levels to hit in order to check off a habit.
This time I only want to have one target.
Besides, I want to implement the deep mode method in habits, by blocking 2.5-3 hours to complete 17 habits.
That’s 81% of the daily habits I am doing.
The remaining three habits cannot possibly be added to these because they are related to:
Movement → I would rather do it in the evening once I am done from work.
Sleep → both dark mode and sleep are happening at night.
So the goal is to block a specific time, preferably from 5 to 8 am, to execute all the 18 habits. In case I can’t do that for some reason, I will be doing them in the evening from 6 to 9 pm. That’s another option to have.
What’s different about this month’s goals is that they are not about reaching a higher score for the sake of adding a new habit.
NOPE.
It’s for gaining confidence in myself and having fun with habits. Adding new habits would be done next month, not during this month, even if I score 90% or more.
This is the order of executing habits (skipping is allowed but not recommended).
What’s between habits isn’t important either, just for structural purposes if it’s done early in the morning.
Here are the two blocks of habit execution.
Early morning
Making bed >> Drinking water >> Brushing teeth >> INSERT ANY OTHER ACTIVITY like eating or something >> food tracking >> habits statements >> Planning >> Sweeping the floor >> Meditation >> Yoga >> Cold shower >> reading >> content creation >> productivity system >> language learning project >> journaling >> time tracking >> habit documenting
Evening
Walking >> money tracking >> other activities >> dark mode >> sleep
If you didn’t find time to execute habits by the two chunks, then:
Just execute them randomly.
THE CHALLENGE STARTED AT 11:36 pm on the first day of August. (That’s the time when I finished setting up the habit goals for August 2025.)
There is HES (Habit Escalation System), which is meant to increase the difficulty whenever I hit 90% for that particular habit. This should make the habit challenging but not sabotaging, since it has small increments.
This HES isn’t meant to be used for this month.
Because, like I stated, it’s a reboot month, not meant for increasing the difficulty.
Habits checking-off criteria
- Reading → Reading for 10 minutes.
- Planning → Planning for 2 hours. Of course, planning on its own isn’t enough. One should follow through with the planned hours, with at least 2 hours for the habit to be checked off.

- The Yoga Explorer LP → Reading 5 minutes of theory of Yoga and practicing for 15 minutes.

The habits results for August 2026
8 habits worked in a great way and they were above 90%.
Brushing teeth was the only perfect habit (100%).
Reading, Journaling, time tracking, making bed, food tracking and productivity systems → (each one of them is 96.8%).
Money tracking → 93.5%.
What has been different this month is that the majority of habits had a better score compared to last month.
Journaling went from 61% → 97%
Drinking water went from 45% → 74%
Stillness Finder Learning Project went from 29% → 71%
Earlier in the beginning of the video, I mentioned that the habits are executed in two habit chunks.
One early morning and one late evening.
During the first day, I didn’t follow the chunks because I started doing habits at 11:36 pm.
Day two, most habits were completed late in the evening, and I completed 19/21. Not a bad score.
For the first 10 days, there was not a day where I followed the morning habit chunks.
Same thing for the next 10 days.
It wasn’t until the 22nd of August that I tried intentionally to do the habit chunking, but I didn’t complete all of them.
Making bed >> Drinking water >> Brushing teeth >> INSERT ANY OTHER ACTIVITY like eating or something >> food tracking >> habits statements >> PLanning >> Sweeping the floor, then I followed it with blogging and not meditation. I wonder what was up with my mind. Maybe I was sleepy and I thought blogging was a more active habit to avoid falling asleep.
Even on the 24th of August, this habit chunking wasn’t following the described formula. I was perhaps referring to some other physical printed paper, because clearly they were not the same as the month’s plan. Perhaps I failed to double-check the order of the habits and mixed it up with another list. A rookie mistake, but it happens when you have so many habits to keep up with.
The interesting finding I found while analyzing the data was that despite following another order of habit chunking, because I followed most of them from the 24th to the 27th of August, I scored perfect 4 days, then followed by a day of 19 completed habits, then the 29th was another perfect habit.
This shows that habit chunking has a powerful effect on habits if used right.
The three weakest habits were sleep schedule, dark mode, and habits statements. A common recurrence, at least when it comes to dark mode and habits statements.
The Final score for August 2026
Now that we detailed how my habits score was for the most part, let’s check how many times I executed my habits.
484 times / 651 = 74.35%
That’s a whopping 23.35% increase compared to July 2026.
Reaching 90% would have been nice, but it wasn’t important, because that was just an optional goal, not the main goal.
The real aim was breaking up with the downtrend of the first 7 months and have a fresh start.

See you in September 2025!
