The results of my daily 20 habits June 2024

June was a super busy month and especially when it comes to habit building, so let’s jump into how I performed, starting with the perfect habits!

Starting with the perfect habits

First off, reading: a perfect 30 days with a total of 16 hours of reading.

The Stillness Finder (Learning Project) : for every day I meditated and read about meditation. This time last year, I meditated only 5 times for the entire month, so that’s a huge leap, right?

Journaling was another perfect habit, which I maintained for the entire month. It helped me to de-stress because my work can be daunting and full of clients with unrealistic demands (hehe).

The same goes for time tracking, sweeping the floor, and making the bed. All of these habits achieved a perfect score of 30.

That’s 6 perfect habits so far.

Ranking the other habits from BEST to WORST performance

Drinking water: Did it 29 times this month, averaging 1.2 liter of water every day.

Content creation: Performed this habit for 45 hours, averaging 1.5 hours/day.

Productivity system: Engaged 29 times this month, using an average of 3.25 apps per day from 4 productivity tools.

Food tracking: Did it 29 times this month.

Brushing teeth: Did it 29 times this month.

Money tracking: Did it 29 times this month.

Planning: Did it 29 times this month (best-planned month in terms of executed planned hours).

Habit statements: Missed 4 days. Using printed flashcards increased my performance. For example, in April 2024, I did the habit 17 times, but in May, when I used the flashcards, I did it 25 times. This month, I did one extra. I knew physical flashcards were more powerful; I just delayed printing them for a month.

The Yoga Explorer Learning Project (Yoga workout + reading theory): Missed 4 days.

Cold shower: Missed 6 days. Took a total of 10 minutes of cold showers (one day, I will do that in just one day as I did in the past).

Habit documenting: Scored 23 days.

Sleep schedule: Missed 9 days. Started the second attempt of the Zest Mode challenge for adapting to a sleep schedule this year (details about this challenge will be provided next month).

Dark mode: One of my worst-performed habits, did it only 9 times.

Learning project: Did it only 6 times. I had a complete disconnect with the habit for reasons I will discuss in the next post (super important to fix in July).

Final results

The goal was to complete my habits 540 times out of 600.

However, I only did them 518 times (compared to 461 times last month, which was 74.35%).

This results in an 86.33% completion rate, 3.67% off the target.

Therefore I failed to reach my habit goals for June 2024. And that due to two reasons that prevented from making it.

Two reasons for not reaching my habits goal for June 2024

Underestimating the time it would take to finish those few-minute-long habits in the last hour of the day often leads to missing 1-4 habits per day. In the long term, this has snowballed into significant damage.

Not giving enough attention to my learning project (upgraded memory 1.0) and dark mode has been a constant issue, not just this month but in previous months as well. Which kind of created that slow flow and weakened my connection with the habits.

The approach for solving these issues will be discussed in the upcoming post tomorrow about July 2024 habit goals.
